The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Special Edition

One of the most influential open-world RPGs ever made, still drawing near-unanimous recent reviews nearly a decade after this remaster's release — but its negative sample is dominated almost entirely by a specific, well-documented grievance: Bethesda repeatedly breaking the mod ecosystem with forced updates while reintroducing paid mods, and delisting the original game from Steam search in the process.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Starfield

The clearest case in this library of a Steam score that has become a historical document — a Mixed badge earned in 2023 sitting on top of a game that, three years and a flight update later, its current players mostly recommend.

Fallout 76

Gaming's most famous redemption arc went into reverse — negative reviews fell to five in 2023, then spiked to thirty-one in 2025, and the players writing them have two thousand hours each and one complaint: the subscription.
